All in all a pretty good little microscope though, focusing is pretty easy and one can take pictures and movies easily, although I would recommend using the software to take the picture rather than the small button on the side of the unit because of camera shake when using the button. For the price, and because it plugs vms-0001 into a USB port and shows up on my monitor, it’s pretty good.

The x focus location occurs when the drum is rotated beyond the bottom of the scale, to the below the 20 mark. They suggest you take that reading from the scale on the microscope, but there’s so much up and down play in the focus drum that you can’t rely on its readings for the true magnification.
